A product you stock in the shop is a WooCommerce product. A product you dropship from a distributor is imported in FFL Cockpit, then published to WooCommerce. Do not hand-build a Lipsey’s or Sports South SKU in Products if Cockpit is already syncing it. You will create a duplicate and the price will drift.

Add a local product

  1. In wp-admin open Products, then Add new.
  2. Title is what the buyer searches. Include the model and caliber. Do not stuff the title with the store name.
  3. Set a regular price. If the item is MAP-restricted, the price you type must respect the distributor’s MAP. Cockpit enforces MAP on imported rows. It does not police a product you typed by hand.
  4. Set the shipping class. Firearm class if it must go to an FFL. Ammunition class if you separate ammo. Default class for accessories that ship home.
  5. Add a real photo. A catalog image with a distributor watermark reads as unfinished.
  6. Publish only after the shipping class and the FFL flag match. A firearm published as a simple accessory will offer home delivery.

FFL flag

If the item cannot ship to the buyer’s house, mark it FFL-required in the product data and in FFL Cockpit if the SKU also exists there. Checkout uses that flag to show the dealer selector. A missed flag is a bad shipment, not a theme bug. Distributor catalog imports are a Cockpit task. See import a distributor catalog. The dropshipping overview is on firearms dropshipping. Published products can also appear in consumer search on GunSearchEngine.com when you list your gun store inventory free through its Dealer Program.
